Tools Needed

• Small Philips Screwdriver
• Plastic Opening Tools
• Spudger
• Hot air station or hairdryer

Procedure

Please ensure that your Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL is powered off before beginning.

Consider wearing an anti-static wrist strap to avoid damaging the internal components with static electricity.

• Separate the screen from the back cover using the plastic opening tools. Apply heat if necessary to soften the adhesive. Start from the bottom and work your way up.
• Unscrew the 14 screws securing the mid-frame. Use the correct size Philips screwdriver.
• Remove the mid-frame carefully. Unplug the battery connector once you've removed the mid-frame.
• Unplug the display and digitizer connector. Unscrew and remove the small board on top that covers the connector.
• Now, you can successfully remove the broken display. Make sure to remove any remaining adhesive.
• Apply fresh adhesive to the frame. Position your new display and press it into place.
• Reverse the procedure for reassembly.
