Instructions on how to Replace iPhone 2G
Before you proceed with the steps, ensure you have the necessary tools and parts: a new iPhone 2G screen, a plastic opening tool, a Phillips #00 screwdriver, and a suction cup.
Steps:
- Step 1: Power off your iPhone 2G.
- Step 2: Remove the two Phillips screws next to the dock connector at the bottom of the iPhone.
- Step 3: Use the suction cup to gently pull up the display assembly. Be careful not to pull the whole iPhone 2G apart as the display assembly is still connected by several cables at the top of the iPhone.
- Step 4: Use the plastic opening tool to detach the cables connecting the display assembly to the motherboard.
- Step 5: Once disconnected, you can remove the old display assembly.
- Step 6: Place the new display assembly and reconnect the cables to the motherboard.
- Step 7: Lower the display back into place, pressing firmly so it fits into the place.
- Step 8: Once the display is in place, put back the two Phillips screws by the dock connector.
- Step 9: Power on your iPhone to test if the display and touch sensitivity are functioning correctly.
It's important to be patient and do these steps carefully to avoid causing any damage to your iPhone 2G.
