    Replacing the iPhone 4 Screen

    Here are the detailed instructions to replace the iPhone 4's screen:

    Tools Needed

    • Phillips #00 Screwdriver
    • Suction cup
    • Plastic Opening Tools
    • Small flathead screwdriver

    Instructions

    Before starting the replacement process, make sure that your smartphone is turned off.

    • Remove the two Phillips #00 screws next to the dock connector.
    • Push the rear panel toward the top edge of the iPhone and remove the rear panel.
    • Remove the single 2.5 mm Phillips screw securing the battery to the motherboard.
    • Insert a metal spudger at the edge of the battery and pry it up from the adhesive securing it to the motherboard.
    • Remove the following five screws securing the Wi-Fi antenna to the motherboard:
      • One 1.6 mm Phillips screw
      • One 1.2 mm Phillips screw
      • One 1.2 mm Phillips screw
      • One 1.2 mm Phillips screw
      • One 7.2 mm Phillips screw
    • Carefully lift the Wi-Fi antenna cable up to reveal a hidden 1.4 mm screw. Remove it.
    • Carefully remove the Wi-Fi antenna while slowly peeling the five cables off the motherboard.
    • Connect your new iPhone 4 screen to the motherboard, and reassemble the iPhone following these instructions in reverse order.

    Always remember to be patient and careful, as small parts can be easily damaged.
