Instructions for Replacing iPhone 8 Plus

    Tools Needed

    • Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
    • P2 pentalobe screwdriver
    • Suction Handle
    • Spudger
    • Opening Picks
    • Tweezers
    • Screen replacement part

    Steps

Please note that working on your device may void your warranty. Follow these steps carefully to replace the screen of the iPhone 8 Plus.

    1. Power off your iPhone 8 Plus before starting the disassembly.
    2. Remove the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the iPhone.
    3. Heat the bottom edge of the iPhone using an iOpener or hair dryer to soften up the adhesive.
    4. Attach the suction cup to the lower half of the display assembly, making sure to avoid the home button.
    5. Pull up on the suction handle to carefully separate the display assembly from the body casing.
    6. Insert an opening pick between the front panel and the rear case.
    7. Slide the opening pick around the iPhone, separating the adhesive.
    8. Open the iPhone like a book, just up to a 90º angle.
    9. Remove the tri-point screws securing the battery connector bracket, then remove the bracket.
    10. Use the point of a spudger to dislodge the battery connector out of its socket on the logic board.
    11. Remove the two screws securing the lower connector bracket and then remove it.
    12. Use the spudger to disconnect the front panel sensor assembly connector, and remove the assembly.
    13. Once all connectors are disconnected, the display assembly should be free. You can now attach the new replacement screen.
    14. Reverse these steps for reassembly, applying new adhesive where necessary.

Replacing a smartphone panel may be tricky and might cause damage to the new replacement part or other components of the phone if not done correctly. Thus, it's always recommended to consult a professional for such tasks.
