Replacing the Screen
- Turn off the iPhone and unscrew the two 6.7 mm pentalobe screws at either side of the Lightning connector.
- Heat the lower edge of the iPhone to soften the adhesive securing the display.
- Open the iPhone by lifting the display at the lower edge.
- Unscrew the five screws securing the logic board connector bracket and remove the bracket.
- Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector, followed by the display cable, and digitizer cable connector.
- Remove the old display.
- Install the new display by connecting it to the digitizer cable connector and battery connector.
- Re-secure the logic board connector bracket and screw in the five screws.
- Close the iPhone and re-secure the pentalobe screws.
Replacing the Battery
- Begin as per screen replacement above, until the battery connector is disconnected.
- Remove the two screws from the battery connector bracket and then remove the bracket itself.
- Use a spudger to gently pry battery from the adhesive securing it to the phone.
- Pull out the old battery and replace it with a new one.
- Re-secure the battery connector bracket and its screws.
- Reconnect the battery connector, along with digitizer and display connectors.
- Close the iPhone and re-secure the pentalobe screws.
