Step-by-Step Instructions
Replacing the Screen
- Turn off the device and remove the SIM card tray.
- Use a heat gun to gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive.
- Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and the frame to start separating them. Work your way around the edges.
- Once the screen is loosened, gently lift it off but do not pull it away completely as it is still connected by a ribbon cable.
- Disconnect the ribbon cable by lifting the latch on the connector and pulling the cable out.
- Replace the old screen with a new one by connecting the ribbon cable and securing the latch.
- Carefully align and press the new screen into place. Ensure all edges are properly sealed.
- Turn the device back on and test the new screen to ensure it functions properly.
Replacing the Battery
- Turn off the device and remove the back cover using a plastic opening tool.
- Remove any screws securing the battery to the frame using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry up the battery. Be cautious of the adhesive strips securing it to the frame.
- Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard by using tweezers to lift the connection point.
- Dispose of the old battery safely.
- Place the new battery into the frame, ensuring it is aligned correctly.
- Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard.
- Secure the new battery with screws and reattach the back cover.
- Turn the device on to ensure the battery replacement was successful.
