Tools Required
To replace the parts of your Surface Pro 4, you will need the following tools:
- T5 Torx Screwdriver
- Spudger or Plastic Opening Tools
- Heat Gun or iOpener
Procedure
Please ensure your Surface Pro 4 is turned off and disconnected from any power source before beginning the following steps:
- First, use a heat gun or an iOpener to heat the edges of the display to soften the adhesive.
- Then, use a spudger or a plastic opening tool to pry the display off carefully. Start from the top edge of the tablet and work your way around the sides.
- After separating the display, carefully disconnect the display connector.
- Next, remove the screws holding the internals with a T5 Torx screwdriver.
- Once the screws are removed, lift out the internal components and replace the necessary parts.
- Fix the new repuestos in place and reattach the screws using the T5 Torx screwdriver.
- Reconnect the display connector and reattach the display to the Surface Pro 4 by applying adhesive to the edges.
- Finally, ensure that the display is firmly attached and let the adhesive dry.
Note: Always take extreme precaution while disassembling your device to avoid any damage.
