Instructions to Replace Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Components

To replace Microsoft Surface Pro 7 components, follow the steps detailed below. Please note; this process should only be undertaken by trained personnel equipped with the right tools.

    1. Gather Your Tools

You will need the following tools:

    • Ejector pin or SIM tray tool
    • Torx T3 and T5 screwdrivers
    • Plastic pry tool or opening picks
    • Heat gun or hairdryer

    2. Power Off The Device

Always make sure that your Surface Pro 7 is completely powered down and disconnected from any power sources.

    3. Removing The Screen

Heat the edges of the screen using a heat gun on a low setting, or a hairdryer. The heat will soften the adhesive holding the screen. Then, carefully insert the plastic pry tool or opening picks in between the screen and body and gently lift the screen away from the main body.

    4. Disconnect The Screen

After opening, disconnect the screen's flex cables. Be careful to avoid tearing the cables.

    5. Replacing The Component

If you're replacing the battery, SSD, or other components, locate them in the main body and use the screwdrivers to remove the holding screws. Replace the faulty piece with the new component, secure it with the screws, and reconnect the relevant connectors.

    6. Reassemble The Device

Reconnect the screen's flex cables, apply new adhesive (if needed), and carefully reposition the screen. Ensure all the clips fit into place and the device is closed securely.

After the reassembly, power on the device to ensure the newly replaced component is working as expected.

Please have a professional handle the process if you're unfamiliar with or uncomfortable performing these steps, to avoid causing any harm to the device.
