    Tools Required

    • Small Phillips Screwdriver
    • Spudger
    • Plastic opening tools

    Procedure

    Before starting the procedure ensure your device is powered off.

    • Remove the SIM card and the Micro SD card tray from the phone.
    • Using the plastic opening tool, carefully separate the rear cover from the rest of the phone starting from the bottom edge and working your way around.
    • Remove the 13 visible Phillips screws attaching the middle frame to the front assembly.
    • Using the spudger, carefully pry up and remove the middle frame.
    • Disconnect the battery connector using the pointed end of the spudger.
    • Unscrew and extract the screws securing the metal bracket over the motherboard connector.
    • Remove the bracket and disconnect the Motherboard connector using spudger.
    • Now, remove the motherboard from the front assembly and your BlackBerry DTEK50 is successfully disassembled.
    • To replace the new unit, follow these steps in reverse order.
