The camera in a smartphone is far more than just a lens and sensor. There are numerous technical characteristics that define the quality of the images it can capture:
You will need a small Phillips screwdriver, a plastic opening tool, tweezers, and a new camera module for your specific smartphone model.
Using the plastic opening tool, gently pry around the edges of the phone to separate the back cover from the body of the phone. Be careful not to use too much force or you could break the plastic.
Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove any screws holding the camera module in place. Be careful not to lose these screws. Once the screws are removed, gently lift the camera module out of the phone with the tweezers.
Place the new camera module in the same spot where the old one was located. Make sure it is seated correctly and that any connectors align properly. Once the new camera is in place, replace the screws you removed earlier.
Snap the back cover back onto the phone. You should hear a click when it is securely in place. Check that there are no gaps and that all buttons function properly.
Important: Opening your phone can void the warranty. If you're unsure about this procedure, it's best to take your phone to a professional.
