Instructions to Replace OnePlus 5T
Step-by-Step Guide
- Step 1: Power off your OnePlus 5T and eject the SIM card tray using a SIM ejector tool.
- Step 2: Remove the back cover of the phone. This can be done by gently prying it open using a plastic opening tool. Be careful not to damage the clips holding the cover.
- Step 3: Unscrew the screws securing the metal shield over the motherboard. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove these screws.
- Step 4: Carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard with the help of a plastic spudger.
- Step 5: Remove the screws securing the battery and gently pry the battery up from the adhesive. Take care not to puncture the battery.
- Step 6: Disconnect the other ribbon cables connected to the motherboard, including those for the display and fingerprint sensor.
- Step 7: Unscrew and carefully remove the motherboard. Be cautious of any remaining connectors or components attached to it.
- Step 8: If you are replacing the display, unscrew and remove the old display assembly. Make sure to clean off any adhesive residue.
- Step 9: Install the new display assembly by securing it with screws and reconnecting the ribbon cables.
- Step 10: Place the motherboard back into the phone and secure it with screws. Reconnect the ribbon cables and battery connector.
- Step 11: Replace the metal shield over the motherboard and screw it in place.
- Step 12: Place the back cover onto the phone and press it firmly to ensure all clips are secured.
- Step 13: Power on the phone to check if all components are functioning correctly. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
