Replacement Guide for Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 2020

You will need a Phillip's Head 00 Screwdriver, a Plastic Opening Tool, and a new replacement part.

Step 1: Removing the Back Cover

Start by turning off your device. Use the plastic opening tool to pry the back cover off. Begin at one corner and slide the tool all the way around the device. Be careful not to apply too much force and accidentally crack the cover.

    Step 2: Removing the Battery

Remove the battery connector from the motherboard. Next, remove the four screws with the Phillip's head screwdriver. Carefully lift the battery out of the device.

Step 3: Replacing the Repairable Part

Identify the part to be replaced (it could be the screen, speakers, camera etc). Unscrew and carefully lift off the damaged part. Place the new part in its place and screw it in gently.

    Step 4: Reassembly

Place the battery back into its original position and connect it to the motherboard. Put the back cover on by applying gentle pressure till it clicks into place. Then, turn on your device and ensure that the replaced part is working correctly.

    Note

This process requires a decent understanding of electronics. It is always safer to take the device to a professional if you are unsure about any part of the process.
