Replacing an Apple Watch involves certain technical steps one needs to follow carefully. Let’s break down the process:
Press and hold the side button until the Power Off slider appears, then drag the slider to the right.
Hold down the band release button, then slide the band across to remove it. Repeat with the other band.
Insert the blade of the tool gently under the display and carefully pry it up. You may need to use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive first.
Use a tri-wing screwdriver to unscrew the cable bracket, then use a set of tweezers to disconnect the digitizer, force touch sensor and display data/powering cables.
Lift the screen up and carefully set it aside.
Reconnect the cables you disconnected in step 4 and gently lower the screen into place. Apply gentle but steady pressure to ensure it adheres properly.
Re-install the bands and press the power button to turn it on. Your Apple Watch should now be successfully replaced!
Note: It is highly recommended to engage a professional for this process to avoid damage to the device.
